Why it happens: lithium-ion hates the cold

Why the percentage lies after a cold shutdown
Both odd behaviors share one root cause:
- Jumping percentage before shutdown — 30% → 20% → off. The low temperature skews the voltage reading, and the gauge gets "fooled"
- The "resurrection" after warming up — back indoors, the charge climbs from the 10% it died at to 25%. The battery did not come back to life; the voltage reading simply returned to normal
